Most of the Instagram users are eagerly waiting for the features and now it’s the reality.
14 Feb 2022, CEO of Instagram Adam Mosseri posted a tweet with an announcement saying “Starting to roll out today, you can now send some love by liking people’s stories without sending a DM. Likes on stories are private and do not have counts. Rather, they appear as hearts next to people’s handles in your Stories view sheet.”

How to Like an Instagram Story (Guide)
To enable this feature you need to update your Instagram app. After updating follow these steps.
Step1. Open an Instagram story
Step2. At the bottom of the story, you see a heart icon. tap on it. It is Between the Send message box and the paper aircraft icon
Note– This feature may not be available in your region. If you are not able to see the icon then the possible cause will be that your region needs more time to enable this feature. Keep calm.
Instagram will roll out this new feature to all the regions across the world.
How to Check Story Likes On Instagram
It will not appear in your DM now if someone likes your story.
To see who has liked your insta story, go to your story viewers list by tapping Seen by in the bottom left corner of the story. A heart will display next to their profile on the Viewers List if they tap the heart icon on your story. Likes on Story are also private it has no counts.
